PORTABLE OIL RECOVERY

AND

SOIL REMEDIATION SYSTEMS

These are portable systems designed to thermally remove hydrocarbons from solids. The hydrocarbons are extracted pyrolitically and recovered as oil and/or fired to heat the process. The systems consists of a thermal oxidizer, indirectly fired rotary kiln with proprietary internals and sealing system, custom designed heavy duty feed system, high efficiency wet scrubber system and heavy duty ash system specifically designed for your application. The Soil Re-mediation Systems are completely pre-assembled, pre-piped and mounted on a trailer. The required controls to operate safely and efficiently are installed in an all weather enclosure. The conveyor system and selected components are transported on the auxiliary trailer. The conveyors are erected at the site. The systems are tested and operated before shipping.

The thermal oxidizer and scrubber assure that the exhaust emissions comply with current US EPA regulations. The soil can is easily cleaned to less than 100 ppm THC. Less than 10 ppm THC is achieved with most types of waste. Depending on solids composition and level of contamination, feed rates start at 25 t tons per day. The process is applicable for the separation of organics from refinery wastes, coal tar wastes, wood-treating wastes, creosote-contaminated soils, hydrocarbon-contaminated soils, mixed (radioactive and hazardous) wastes, synthetic rubber processing waste, pesticides and paint wastes.

This systems are, by definition, not thermal desorbers, the term "thermal desorber" describes the primary treatment operation that heats petroleum-contaminated materials and desorbs organic materials into a purge gas. Our systems use no purge gas, the organic elements are separated by the application of heat to the mixture causing them to vaporize pyrolitically in the absence of oxygen. The resulting vapors are cooled and cleaned, condensing the oils and removing the particulate. The remaining clean vapors are oxidized in a combustion chamber, the resultant heat is used to indirectly heat the incoming mixture. Although the water and hydrocarbon content of the mixture affects the throughput of the machine, solids containg any percentage of water or hydrocarbon can be processed safely. This futher differentuates us from desorbers which have strict limits on the water and hydrocarbon content they can handle safely.

START-UP

Due to the systems being trailer mounted and factory tested, initial installation, start-up, and training require a week to ten days. No special foundations are required. Subsequent system mobilization and demobilization time requires 4 men 6 to 8 hours. The heaviest lift is 6 tons.

COMMERCIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Prices for the portable Applied Thermal Designs Thermal Extractor Systems vary depending on the specific configuration of the equipment.

Site specific field erected systems can be supplied.
